Conventional Castable
Conventional castable contains greater than 2.5 % CaO. It also known as traditional castable, refers to a type of refractory material used in high-temperature applications. It is composed of refractory aggregates, fine powders, and a cementitious binder, typically Portland cement.
Conventional castables are widely used due to their ease of installation and good workability. They can be mixed with water to form a pumpable or pourable slurry, allowing for flexible and convenient application. Once installed, conventional castables are cured and dried to develop their desired properties. These castables provide thermal insulation, erosion resistance, and mechanical strength, making them suitable for various industrial applications requiring moderate to high temperatures.
